Jimmy began work at the Wide Ruins Trading Post and served with the U.S. Marines in WWII, and was a distinguished member of the Navajo Code Talkers. He was famous for genre painting of Navajo daily life scenes, and later was a member of the Native American Church in the 60's which influenced his style in painting of that period.
